Electric separation process is the method of mineral separation under high-voltage electric field and other force fields, that mineral and gangue particle is separated due to the difference in conductivity between them. Electric separation method Includes, electrical separation, triboelectric separation, high gradient separation, dielectric separation, electric dust separation. Electric separation process is dry type process, required land space is less, it is applicable specially for water-deficient region. Electric separation process has wide range of application, it can be used for non-ferrous metal mineral, rare metal mineral and non-metal minerals.
The electric separator is the key equipment in electric separation process, there is different type electric separator, the most used type is cylindrical electric separator.
Current main applications:
Non-ferrous metal ore and rare metal ore – these two types of ores are often processed first by gravity separation method to remove most of gangue ore obtaining coarse ore, then adopt electric separation process to get the final concentrate.
Ferrous metal ore– a few iron ore, such as manganese ore and chrome ore are processed directly with electrical separation process, for most of iron ore, electric separation method only adopted during the concentrate process.
Non-metallic ores - graphite, asbestos, diamonds, apatite, coal, potash, quartz and feldspar.
